Read, Listen, Watch: Here is a curated selection of original thought-provoking pieces for your reading, listening and watching time:

  • Gosford Anglican's Rod Bower gives an energetic sermon on last week's lectionary, entitled "Do we still sacrifice children today?". If you don't have time to sit and watch the video, you can pop in your earbuds, pop your phone in your pocket, and listen to the 17min talk while cooking dinner. That's what I do.
  • Amelia Koh-Butler, Uniting Church minister in Parramatta-Nepean Presbytery, shares her raw pain and thoughts on colour and identity in her bloghere
  • In My Blood It Runs. The film contains references to Aboriginal healing and spirituality, which is part of the ongoing conversation in the church about how this ancient culture fits together with our understanding of faith in modern times, and is highly recommended. This film will be broadcast on ABC on Sunday 5 July from 9.30pm and available on ABC iview for 30 days.
  • How is lockdown affecting other Uniting Church members? Read this short interview with Ilaisaane Pongi as she speaks about the experience of her Tongan family and congregation in Melbourne. She shares her faith and says, "I find that going through this unprecedented event has given me ample opportunity for deep reflection on my life."
